​Best vacation ever!

On our way home from the best vacation I've ever had. I got to experience real whitetail rut action that even some of the most experienced hunters never get to see. A week's worth of sitting in a deer stand with my bow and I can honestly say I never had the same sit each day or each sit. First evening in the stand I saw 15 deer and that's wasn't even my best day in the stand. On Thursday, I sat all day and saw a total of 6 shooter bucks, unfortunately for me I couldn't get a shot of and had to let down 3 different times. The RUT unfolded in front of my stand- with a doe being chased by three bucks, a big mature buck actually locking horns with another and finally winning the doe 30 yards from me- with no shot. This was my first trip away for deer camp and I was spoiled. Walden and his family's hospitality is unmatched- from Walden taking me into town to the bow shop to have an issue looked at and him helping me track a deer for a half mile to Melissa's wonderful home cooked meals and fantastic desserts. I just can't say enough about my stay with Central Missouri Whitetails and we starting planning our return trip for next year before we ever even left. Thanks for the real personal touches you put into or trip that made it great.

​Best out of state hunt to date!

Thank you Walden and Melissa Chevalier for a great week.  The lodging was the best I have EVER experienced on an out of state hunting trip. Melissa's dinners were fantastic, most notably the Lasagna! Traveling to stands in electric vehicles ensured you didn't over exhert and lose scent control, disturb bedding animals and expidited time to stands. Tree stands and stick ladders are high quality, readily marked and easily located once on foot.  I hunted several stands during the week, stand placement was well thought out and provided several shooting options from each platform.  Stands covered a varity of locations ranging from hard woods, food plots, field edges and funnels.  I could have tagged out my first day, first hour, but we're hunting wall hangers.  I saw deer every day to include a 150/160 class 10 point. Unfortunately, at 75 yds and closing I ran out of daylight and a shot was not possible.  CMW is a serious outfitter, enthusiastic and knowlegeable guides, comfortable lodging and great meals at an affordable price.  Not only would I recommend CMW, I will be a returning for the 2016 season.

Friends For Life

The thing I like the most about hunting with Central Missouri Whitetails is that it was like hunting with friends that I have known my whole life but we just had met. I looked long and hard for about two years to find a place to hunt in the Midwest. I finally came across Walden's site. We started talking and next thing you I knew I was booked in for late October this past hunting season and yes I have already rebooked for November of next year. Walden's does whatever he can do to put you on the deer. There's just two things he can't control weather and the deer. If outfitters could do that it wouldn't be called hunting. I saw deer almost every sit. Saw a few monsters also. His wife does all the cooking and it was amazing!!! Never had a want or need for anything while I on my stay. Walden is top notch in my book. I also brought my girlfriend along and she received what some hunters can only dream about seeing.

Walden, I want to say Thanks to you and the entire CMW staff for another incredible week of bow hunting this past year. Enclosed is my deposit for the 2014 season. It can't get here soon enough!  CMW is my kind of place and you can plan on me and my gang returning every year. Do not hesitate to tell prospective CMW clients to give me a call if they have any questions. I would be glad to talk with them. Your operation has come a long way in a very short period of time and I appreciate all the hard work you have obviously put in.  You asked me for suggestions that I thought might make CMW better, and I gave it some serious thought. I can't come up with any. U got plenty of deer, lots of farms, meals fit for a king, and you and your family make me feel like CMW is my home. Just keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep coming back. Please tell Melissa, Izabella, and Sophia I said hello and looking forward to seeing you all in November.

Outfitter Recommended

Not too many Outfitters can say "We have pics from our own trail cams of what would be the new state record buck that is still out there", but Central Missouri Whitetails can. That's not even the best part. Heroes Hunting travels the country working with different outfitters and CMW definitely ranks near the top of our list. Walden and his wife, who is former military, are WONDERFUL hosts with a great family. The accommodations are WELL more than you could even HOPE for at other places. With a wide open house, giant theater room, and to top it off, Walden's Wife's cooking. THEN you get to the hunting.  As far as you can see, it's CMW and they have EVERYTHING all set for you: Blinds, Stands, getting you to and from it all. They cover it all. The only thing they don't do is have the deer run INTO the arrow. That's up to you, and believe me, you see deer. Good lord. Walden will work with you on his arial photos of stand placements and strategies on where they are, what they've been doing, and what is thought to be the best approach. The rest is up to you. I would HIGHLY recommend Central Missouri Whitetails when you are looking into Missouri bow hunting, and maybe we'll run into you, as we're sure to be back again and again.

I hunted at CMW the first week of November, stands were placed in great locations and comfortable , food was amazing , and Walden went out of he way to make sure everything went perfect . YOU CAN PAY MORE, BUT YOU CAN'T GET ANY BETTER .

Already Planning For Next Year!

If you are looking for an action-packed whitetail pursuit, then Central Missouri Whitetails should top your destination list! My son and I hunted CMW mid-October and saw more whitetails and turkeys in 5-1/2 days than I saw all last season in Southern Illinois!  The first evening set presented me with six turkeys marching by within 20 minutes in stand. The same night, a shooter buck showed up at 20 yards, I lost my opportunity drawing my bow when busted by a second shooter buck who sneaked in downwind of me. The rest of the week followed the same pattern. Deer after deer consistently showed up morning and night! We had multiple close encounters with big bucks.  The forth morning, I rattled in a shooter from 100 yards, and decided to pass. Not because he wasn't shooter, but because there were so many quality trophy bucks I wanted to wait out. Clear skies and a full moon worked against us the last morning and rain and wind moved that night...we still saw deer. I drove home with that last passed buck weighing heavy on my mind...and planning for our next trip to CMW next year!  Walden and his wife treated us like family and the home-cooked food was superb! Our guide Jake Jones was top-notch. He worked hard for us each day and kept our motivation high. Jake knew his stuff and was especially helpful firing up my son between hunts! I highly recommend Central Missouri Whitetails. The properties and stand locations are simply unmatched for Midwest bow hunting.

An Awesome Time with Great Friends

I had a great time at CMW! In addition to seeing a lot of good quality deer, the food, lodging, and hospitality was top notch! Beautiful hunting ground and great stand locations that get you right on top of the deer. Also, if you want to do something, a plan is put together and it's done ASAP to try and get your deer, which is another thing I really liked. These are all the factors needed for success in the woods and they're definitely there at Central Missouri Whitetails! An awesome time with great friends and great hunting! Thanks guys!!!!!
